    I read your thread. I gonna check it out the dc pumps sound awesome. My only concern is longevity. I can run internal that's not a problem. I have to make decision so I can take advantage of Black Friday extended sales. Who do you recommend buying from? I'd like to buy from someone with good customer service in case of any warranty issues. Thanks

    Go for the DC pumps. I have the RO DC-5500 on my 230. Absolutely amazed at how silent it is. How long it lasts who knows. There's a thread around here on the cheaper ebay version.. appears to be same pump. I could have went a little bigger but the 5500 works for me.. I have one tapping for refugium and run my reactors with separate MJ. So if you plan to run a bunch of stuff off the main I would step up to next bigger. Or if you have two overflows go bigger. I have one bean animal.
    My red dragon skimmer pump (4-5 y/old) just died so no guarantees no matter how much you spend.

    I hear you. No guarantees in this hobby. This is my third tank went from 55, 120, 210. The expenses keeps climbing but I am learning more and more. Thanks for your help.
