After a few years away I am making a venture back into salt water.

My previous tank was a 55 gal with 15 gal sump. I loved the setup as I was able to grow chaeto very well in the sump.

I am trying to decide what to do this time.

I have an opportunity to get a RSM250 at a great price. Trying to decide if I go RSM or build a 75 on my own. Any feedback would be great!

Welcome back! I can say that I have any particularly good advice for you about what your choice should be. I know for me, I get a certain amount of satisfaction building things myself but I think I would be happy either way. Let us know what you decide.

Tough call right now. I can get the RSM250 for $600 right now. I have not really been able to find a reasonably priced drilled tank lately.

Drill your own. It s very very easy and gives you the ability to do exactly what you want. 75s are about the most common and very cheap tanks on craigslist so its easy to find a good one at a great price. Drill it and then put the "extra" money into other goodies!

Ok so I had a change in plans.

I set up an Innovative Marine 16 gallon. Figured this would fix my itch while I take my time and build a 75 gal this winter.

    Currently settling the sandstorm
    17lbs LR
    20lbs LS
Will post pics in a new thread

Well since you have the IM tank I would wait and see how much you like it and then look at the new IM-SR or fusion series tanks.

Definitely want to build my own, like the flexibility of a sump
