Reuseing Filter Floss?

    Can you rinse out and reuse filter floss? I know its cheap and everything but why not just rinse and reuse at least a couple times>? any thoughts?8)

    I probably wouldn't. Those things can be a Nitrate/ Nitrite factory! I change mine every 3 weeks.

    Right well im rinsing the floss everyday which is getting rid of the Detritus and stuff. so isnt that the same as replacing it?

    In a way it is.. It depends on the type of floss in my opinion. The harder, more coarse floss seems like it traps alot of stuff. If you're using the cheap blue stuff, I think it would be easier to rinse/squeeze out- but that stuffs cheap.

    If you're rinsing it daily, maybe continue to do so- but then replace the pad after a week.
