    I'm absolutely sure it isn't live anymore. It's been sittinging in a tub of water with aeration. Is anything on this stuff going to be dead? Anything to worry about?

    The bacterial populations may have died off a bit, but it's still perfectly good. If it's a new tank it will have to cycle before adding live stock most likely. But even if it were completely dried and "dead" it will come back alive in a short time!
