    So I just built a reverse durso. The issues are that there are still bubbles, it is still loud, and the bubbles splash all over the place..

    Regarding the diagram,
    grey = 1" pvc
    blue = 2" pvc

    Any suggestions?

    You stumped the 3reef community. I have no idea on the reverse Durso.

    Gab am I reading your diagram right? Your water level in your overflow is 4.5" off the bottom of the overflow area. If it is correct then IMO your water level is to low causing the waterfall you are describing. If you still have the stock overflow that came with your 90 measure the of it to the opening of the intake and modify your reverse so that the first intake is at that height. I looked at doing this reverse for my 90 as well but I didn't do it because there is not a lot of wiggle room. If I've read it wrong , sorry just trying to help.:)

    Lol I'm not sure I understand what you are saying.. The overflow is not pictured in this diagram. I have been asked to post an actual picture, hopefully this will help clarify.

    First, for those who are unfamiliar with the concept of a reverse durso, this is what I want to happen. The water is coming from the overflow in the DT. The problem is that air gets pushed down with the water. This makes loud bubbles in the sump, and sounds like a disfunctional toilet. It is not a desired sound, as you could imagine. To solve this, I created an alternative path for the air. The air should go up, and the water should go down. The diagram below shows what I want to happen: [IMG]

    Here is a diagram of what is actually happening:

    Here is an image of the setup:

    For reference, I based my design off advice from this thread. It seemed logical to me and worked for them...
    Reverse durso... Doing it wrong?

    By the way, I didn't know this was possible! Those are the last words that I ever expected to hear from such a reputable reefer! I am sure that I am not the only one here with this problem... I mean its a standard reef ready tank!

    Hopefully someone will come along with a solution.. I mean my only alternative is to soundproof the stand, and setup some sort of splash guard.

    I think I see the issue now. You should have a much larger Y or T where the water enters if I am reading the the thread linked correctly. I am thinking if you have 1" PVC coming out of your overflow then the Durso should be using 1.5" or better 2" PVC.

    LOL if you don't use or know about it then those are the appropriate words.
