I bought the supplements that are on my tank from Reef breeders. I remember him talking about these units. They sound solid and from the par results I saw they are plenty capable. Go with the optics if your tank is more than 18" deep.

So they don't have the 120* optics like taotronics? Performance wise, does it stack up or exceed the blue/white taotronic units?

Never seen a Tao unit. But from what I have read I would expect it to blow it out of the water. Even the threads everyone likes to link about that unit, the people say they aren't the same brightness from unit to unit.

Bridgelux are well respected LEDs. Not cree. but better than most of the chinese brands.

Interesting. What is your opinion on the color options compared to the dimmable offhnd taotronic colors of blue and white? They include violet, uv , reds, green, white and blue.

I just got done spending lots of cash to add violet red and green to my AIs. So I think those colors are great. They add a lot of richness to the look and imo increase coloration in my colors in just the 6 weeks I have had my supplements up. They are going with an even more broad approach, I like it.

We took PAR readings with an Apogee mq-200, the readings are as follows: 3" below the fixture- 2160, 3" below the water- 720, 6"- 420, 12"- 336, 15"-252, 20"- 200. The fixtures will ship for free in 1-2 weeks from our facility via 2-3 day express mail. A hanging kit will be included.

It comes with a 2 year warranty too... how long is taotronics? and who do you go to with a problem...

This is from another forum I frequent. These are the par readings from the unit you are looking at buying on ebay. I have bought from the guy that is sourcing these, he built my supplements.

Yes the Taotronics have a two year warranty and apparently the contact is in California. If you look at my review Cosmo linked someone had a problem with the blues not functioning on their unit and they sent him a new one no problem so that is somewhat of a relief to hear.;)
I am still running only one 120 watt fixture over my 90 and so far it is plenty of light for what I have and the corals/clams are responding very well.

That's good. I wondered about the warranty on those units. I don't mean to say the taotronics are bad units. But I have enough personal experience with both bridgelux and reefbreeders to feel very comfortable with the units he is looking at. And considering I spent the last 8 months searching for spectrum beyond white/blue I recommend multi colored led units now.

I inquired about the first linked light:

The color is about 14k with both lights at 100%, and it can be adjusted.

    There are 120 degree optics

    55 bulbs: 27 royal blue, 4 blue, 18 cool whites, 2 reds, 2 green, 2 violet
