Thought I would post my tank and share advice on my Innovative Marine 38 since they are fairly new tanks/lights. First, here are the basics:

    Equipment:
    - Innovative Marine 38 Nuvo black tank & stand
    - 92 watt IM tablet dual spectrum LED fixture w/individual drivers for moonlight, sunrise/sunset and daylight
    - Tunze Osmolater 3155 auto topoff
    - Hydor Slimskim Nano protein skimmer
    - Fluval E-series 200 watt heater
    - Modified use of stock filter chamber (I took the two individual media baskets, removed the sliding backs, then put the two baskets together with rubber bands and then put it into one of the back chambers.) I run filterfloss, Chemipure Elite, Purigen).
    - ~50lbs dry rock from BRS
    - ~40lbs live sand

    Fish/Inverts
    - 2 Ocellaris Clowns
    - 1 Firefish
    - [STRIKE]1 purple Dottyback[/STRIKE] Carpet surfed
    - 1 PJ Cardinal
    - 1 Black Spot Cardinal
    - 3 Chromis
    - [STRIKE]1 Yellow Watchman Goby[/STRIKE] Moved to pico tank
    - 1 Six Line Wrasse
    - 1 RBTA
    - 1 Pink/Neon Green Tube Anenome
    - 4 MaxiMini's (love these things)
    - 2 large feather dusters
    - 1 Pincushion Urchin
    - 1 Large red serpent star
    - 1 Emerald Crab

    Corals
    - GSP
    - Purple Frogspawn
    - Duncans
    - Various Zoa's
    - Ricordia's (Florida and Yuma)
    - Kenya Tree
    - Dendro's
    - Candy Cane
    - Various mushrooms (green, pink, red, dimpled)
    - Purple Xenia
    - Toadstool
    - Red Flowerpot

As you can tell, it's predominately LPS and softies. I like lot's of movement in the tank. Overall, I love the tank and set up. If you are looking for a sleek, well thougth out AIO, I highly recommend Innovative Marine.

Here are some pictures. I included a picture of inside my stand to give other IM tank owners an a look at how I've organized power cords, frequently used tools, etc. If you have any questions or thoughts, please let me know.

    Nice

Great set up. Amazing for two months. :)

    • Which salt are you using?
    • Wow - Nine fish. I thought I was pushing the limit at five.
    • Nice arch with the aquascaping.
    • Are you only using the spinstreams for circulation/flow?
Keep the information coming as your tank ages.

Thanks. The tank has been running for about 4 months, but while waiting for it to come in (which took a month), I used a large Brute trashcan to begin cycling the water and rock. So I guess you could say it's about 5 months old.

    - I use Red Sea Salt
    - Actually 10 :). I know everyone has different opinions, but I've found success with my fish by doing frequent water changes, changing filter media frequently and not feeding too much.
    - Thanks. I tried to create 3 tiers or levels in the tank to accommodate the various lighting needs for the corals I wanted.
    - I use two spin streams only. I find they provide enough flow for how the rock is arranged. The two lower, back corners get the least amount of flow and that's where I put most of my mushrooms.

I will provide updates. I appreciated your detailed tank thread, especially the information about which skimmer fit well in the back chamber. Saved me some research time.

Hydor Slim Skim Protein Skimmer w IM 38 Nuvo

I would like to add the Hydor Hydor Slim Skim Protein Skimmer to my IM 38 Nuvo tank, but I could not figure out how to make it fit.

Could you please provide pictures on how you incorporated it?

    Thanks!

If you are looking at the front of the tank, I installed the Slim Skim in the left hand filter chamber (the larger, left chamber). I have in held in place using the suction cups. It should fit just right with about 1/4 to 1/2 inch on each side.

I then modified the filter basket that was in the left chamber, removed the sliding back cover from both filter baskets, "sandwiched" them together and then reinserted them in the far right, larger chamber. By sandwiching the two media baskets together, I am able to run filter floss in the top, a full unit of Chemipure Elite in the middle, and Purigen in the bottom. My heater is in one of the smaller chambers.

I'll try to post pictures tomorrow morning for you.

So far so good with the dotty. I've not had any trouble with them, he leaves everyone alone completely. He was the last fish in, so perhaps that has helped.
