    Hi all just wondering if what i found growing in my tank was Rhodophyta, its a red and hard very slow growing and is starting ti branch im going to try to get a pic of it but it is still to small to make out in any of the ones ive taken so far.

    you can tell if something is in the kingdom Rhodophyta, or is a red algae, by taking a clipping and boiling it to see if the pigments leach out. They are water soluble at that heat. But with 1000's of different species of red algae, it will be hard to get any useful id info for you until it gets to be about 3 inches if it is a macroalgae.

    cool critters inwall. amazing how many plant like animals there are in the ocean. some hydroids can be amazing too.
