Hey Richy, Great looking system WOW those ORA corals are worth killing for (watch out LOL)

Had a question: Have you ever tried a different CA source? I recently switch from BRS to a local source that was exactly the same description CALCIUM CHLORIDE ANHYDROUS PELLETS as BRS but is from DOW.
I've run into some issues and I've been trying to track down the source. A friend uses the same CA without problems, but Have you heard anything?

DOW specifically says on their website not for aquarium use. They have impurities in their product that could wreck havoc on a reef tank. I have been using BRS for close to two years without a problem.

My Dad added the mini Koralia to prevent the Frogspawn from touching the Superman.

I have been dosing Get Tanked's Potassium Chloride for the past few months and wanted to share how to calculate the amount of potassium to be added to our reef tanks. Potassium chloride is 52.5% by weight potassium. With this calculator, use the calcium to find your potassium. Desired potassium should be between 390 and 400 mg/L. Select Anhydrous CaCl2 (Dow's Peladow) and enter your current and desired potassium values. When entering in your systems water volume make sure to include the live rock and sand displacement (8.556 pounds of rock/sand displaces one gallon of saltwater). After you find how much "calcium" to add, multiply this result by 0.7 to find how much potassium needs to be added.

Wow looking good. I've always touted the need for K but usually falls on def ears.
I did how ever run into some major issues when dosing Potassium Chloride. I foolishly did not use common sense and when I needed significant amounts to get my tank from 250 up in the range of 390 to 400, I measured the amount needed (forget the amount now) and divided it into 2 doses. Well even one dose was enough to kill my fish. It was the strangest thing. I would loose 1 fish each night. The fish still looked alive (didn't have that dead fish look) I later discovered that high levels of Potassium Chloride can block the nerve receptors to your brain causing paralysis and death. since then I've used commercially made products form Zeovit or now Brightwell and everything has been great

Also in the last line of your post your write

Should the Calcium in Red actually read Potassium?

So how much Potassium Chloride are you adding to maintain your levels?

About 30-40mL a week. I mixed some with RO water in a gallon jug.
