    I don't feed the acan's. I use a few lenses:
Nikon D5100 Digital Camera (16.2 megapixel) with Nikon AF-S DX 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens
    Nikon AF-S DX VR 55-200mm f/4-5.6 Lens

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The Nausta is perfect. Is the tabling a Hyacinthus? You've done an amazing job on achieving great coloration, anything special you're doing, is the tank running as a ULNS?

    How are the Acans doing?

    More pictures are always appreciated

Thank you, the Acan's are doing great. They look so so under metal halides but once they turn off and the T5's are on they look amazing. I feed the tank Thera+ A pellets daily and every few days I feed my homemade frozen food seafood mix. I have a bare bottom tank with lots of water flow from two Jebao WP-60's. I currently run a Gen. 3 Vertex IN-180 protein skimmer but this will be replaced this weekend. I run ROX 0.8 carbon and GFO in mesh media bags placed near the return pump in my sump, I change these out once a month. I perform weekly water changes of 25 gallons with Instant Ocean salt because I can tweak the calcium and magnesium levels to my liking. I currently add 1 cup of magnesium chloride and 2 tablespoons of calcium chloride to the new water before performing the water change. I make my own 2-part and dose it manually daily, I do not have the room for a doser or auto top off so I am adding fresh RO water daily to the tank as well. I hope this helps answer your question.

I purchased a new piece of equipment for my tank. I added an ATI Powercone 250 I-Series protein skimmer. I know it is oversized for my tank but it will be perfect for my next upgrade. It is rated for up to 500 gallons and is currently pulling 3,485 lph of air! It comes with a digital air flow meter and a DC pump which allows me to adjust the water flow rate at the pump. I really like the grid wheel design on the impeller vs. a needle wheel impeller. It is very energy efficient as well, ATI has the pump rated for for 35 watts but at full speed mine only draws 28 watts according to my Kill-A-Watt meter. The pump is dead silent, I couldn't even tell it was on. I read online many Powercone users did not like the way the skimmer cup was designed but personally I love it because it allows for easy removal. My old Vertex skimmer cup was hard to remove and I would sometimes spill the waste back into the tank. The only drawback to this skimmer is its massive size. I had to removed my refugium in order to make room for this skimmer. I also had to assemble it inside the sump. So far I am very pleased with my purchase and I cannot wait to see what the skimmate looks like once the skimmer is broken in after two weeks of use.

Very nice tank!! Do you use filter socks by any chance? I don't see one in the sump from the pics.

I do not use them, I am too lazy to change them every few days.
