    Hello reefers ;D

Last week i bought a green ricordea. It seems to be doing fine in my tank. But its color isnt as vibrant then it was in the LFS. Its under 130W of PC's in my tank, it was under MH at the LFS though. I've read on them about light and flow requirements but i would like to get some first hand experience advice on ric's. Right now its in the middle of the tank (meaning moderate lighting) and is getting low water flow.

Any info, tips or anything basically would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Marc.

the more actinic you put on them the more colorful they will be. the lfs probably had 20k bulbs. or something

Mine seem to perk up on the sand. I've also think I've noticed they like dirtier water - the longer I go without water changes, the bigger they get. Of course this conflicts with my acros, so I have to balance it a bit.

I take it that you are referring to Florida Ricordia which yes can handle the higher levels of light. They do need to be gradually accustomed to it. If you are referring to Ricordia Yuma, they are usually collected from deeper water and don't like as much light and prefer cooler water. JMO

    billy31422 - the LFS had them under a 250W 10K pendant.

Matt - Since im runing PC's im not sure i can put them on then sand, i think they wont get enough light.

Vamp - Im pretty sure there from Florida

Thanks for the info guys. Ill try to post a pic tonight so you can see where exactly is the ric in the tank. Maybe you will see something wrong.

    Thanks

    Marc.
