Ricordea Yuma - is this normal?

We bought our orange/pink ricordea Yuma just under 2 weeks ago. It has been stretching and cupping up throughout the day. Today it is stretched to more than double its original size, I'd say its at least 3 inches across. The mouth is tight but puckered out. I'll post pics tomorrow when the lights come back on. There isn't any slime coming off of it, it looks healthy otherwise. I'm just not finding any info on what's "normal" for these guys. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

 

Expanding is a good sign. My shroom doubles in size when the tank goes from lights off to lights on.

What is your lighting situation. It could be expanding for more light. Yuma really does like light.

I think your light level is low also. I found that any I have had like low light levels.

 

Today it seems to be stretching towards the shaded area and curling up in the lit area. We have metal halides and it is placed on the bottom of the tank. 125 gallon 6ft long tank

 

What type of MH what is the distance in inches from the ricordia to the light?
