Last night I noticed my Red Ricordia Yuma is missing half of the body. I do now know what could have caused this. I have a 46 gallon with 2 oscellaris clowns, a fairy wrasse and a mandarin. Various sps, lps, and mushroom corals. I have a long spinned sea urchin, serpent star, lettuce nudibranch, peppermint shrimp Green Ererald Crab and blue legged hermit crabs and astria snails. He was about 18 inches under the 150 watt MH bulb. I put him in the sand for now. I have a sunpod with 2 150 watt 14,000 bulbs. No ammonia, nitrite, nitrate is 5ppm. Salinty 1.025 calcium is 400 alk is 9, PH is 7.9-8.1.

Looks like it split and the other half jumped off the rock

Yes. You also have a second one that might be floating around your tank

I wonder why it would jump ship? Is there anything that would want to eat the other piece of the Yuma? How long until it grows back? I did move him a few times in the past week. Could this be a sign of stress?

no man its how they propogate, and the other half could be anywhere, it is a good thing, it means it is reproducing, and the other half of that one will grow back to the original size.
