    anyone have pics of rift lake aquarium set-up ideas? im tiring to design a African chichlid tank, i want it to be as close to the real deal as possible, but as low budget as possible, any help is appreciated

    I use lace rock and crushed coral substrate. It's pretty heavy rock so I didn't build it up that much especially since the cichlids always dig everything up, with that said I'd like to hear some ideas myself.

    I really dont know what all would be safe for all the fish but i was thinkin like you said the crushed coral, and i know its not natural but clay pots stacked on their sides and glued together only because its cheep and light weight and still gives them the caves to hide in, anyone else with ideas pitch 'em out here anything could help and mayb all us together could come up with the next big thing! :)

    That depends which lakes you are trying to mimic and which fish you are trying to keep (ie open water cichlids vs mbunas vs tang. shellies, etc etc)
