Just wondering how much food you thought I should feed my tank. I have new additions.

    Adult mated clown pair (new!)
    Adult firefish

I've been feeding my firefish a little under 1/3 a cube of frozen mysis lately... I think that is a good amount for him... But I was unsure how much to add for the clowns. The LFS said they eat like crazy but I don't want to overfeed. After acclimating tonight I added 1/3 cube to the tank and the three of them devoured it in about a minute or two but that should be enough til tomorrow.

I have a small pod count (just added a HOB filter fuge a couple days ago so it should be up in a week or two)

    Thanks for the help!

    Oh, tank stats are:
    55 gallon
    0 nitrites, nitrates, ammonia
    1.021 SG
    Small CuC

I just don't want to overfeed and risk ammonia and nitrite spike for the new guys :)

BTW - the pair is really fun to watch. My 2 and 3 SW fish ever :)

what your feeding sounds OK to me
many people aim to feed just enough to be eaten in a couple of minutes or less
    so your not overfeeding

little and often is better than 1 large meal each day IME

you dont want skinny fish, but you also dont want over weight/ chubby fish IMO
So your fishes condition will indicate to you if your feeding insufficient or overfeeding.

Not saying its the best way but i feed all my fish till they won't eat anymore once a day. I use feed slowly over 10mins in small bits at a time till they won't eat anymore.

I do the same thing as OverStocked, even my carriberry anthias are very very healthy and active with this one feeding a day technique. Everyone tells me im dumb and scalds me for not feeding my anthias lots of small meals a day. I dunno...... i just kinda look at my fish and try to feel them, feel what they feel, really put myself in their souls and try to see what they really want. Its all about the fish whisper when u get down to it.

1/3 cube sounds like enough. Agree with Steve. Maybe bump it up to half, but I only feed my guys what they can eat in a matter of 2 mins or so..

I think you would make an amazing Roman.

I think you're in the ballpark too, rogers.
