I don't disconnect the membrane, I leave the hoses and fitting connected. I store the hoses, still connected, slight above the unit to ensure that the membranes do not dry out. I use it about 3 times a week, so it's not stored away for long periods of time, i just place it out of the way

THose are links to our Value Series systems and to our Reef/Residential Series systems.

With no other information to go on, I would have first pointed you towards the Premium Series Systems: http://buckeyefieldsupply.com/showproducts.asp?Category=168&Sub=166

You asked about the horizontal stage on our Reef/Residential system. That is a GAC stage that goes between the pressure tank and the faucet. It is the same sort of low capacity filter that comes as the primary carbon stage on the mighty mite.

It isn't DI resin - horizontal DI is a fundamental design error you'll never find on a Buckeye system.

Russ, I followed the link you provided. That looks like a good option. Ignorant question, I've a single canister underneath my sink connected to a small faucet from Culligan. I'm presuming this is maybe just a water filter for drinking water versus an R.O. unit? The products you suggested, can I hook it up to a garden hose?

If you just have a single stage under your sink - its just a filter - likely with carbon in it to remove chlorine to improve the taste of the water.

Any of our systems can be hooked up to a hose bib adapter (see our accessories page).

With what you have now under the sink sound like its a simple Taste and order cartridge filter if its Carbon ? They are usually about 5 micron to maybe 10 microns for the T&O carbon if its the white sediment cartridge then its maybe 5 micron not much good for reef tank needs .
