I've had my ring of fire zoanthids for about a few weeks now and the first 2 weeks it was opening up nice but the past weeks its been closed and wont open at all. Does anybody know what can cause this or why this is happening? Please give me some advice or your opinion. Thank you.

It could be a lot of things, they may just be acting weird, sometimes that happens. Is anything irritating them? Snails, crabs chemical warfare? Does anything appear to be eating them? Either fish, crabs or nudibranches? What are you water parameters? How is everything else?

I have a frag of the ring of fire as well. It is by far the most sensitive colony of zoa's in my tank. Whenever I walk by I usually see one or two (different ones each time) closed up.

Maybe put it in a spot with lesser flow?
