    Hi everyone
I'm new to the site so just learning my way around so bear with me ;D
A friend gave me one of the Rio Nano Skimmer's and I have set it up on a 30 gal salt water tank. It is very quiet but nothing is happening, it just seems to be acting like a filter.
    Any ideas?

It has only been in the tank for 2 days now , there is nothing blocking anything as I cleaned before using. My friend who is even newer to this than me said it didnt work for him but he used it when his tank was only a couple weeks old and has never used it since. So I assumed he just had it in to early

    Well i vote C

    A. Don't have much to skim

    B. They don't work that amazing :( But it's always better than nothing :)

    C. All of the above

Check out nano-reef though, a couple of people over there have had "some success" with using these. Not dark colored grunge mind you, just some weak tea.

is the air adjustment set properly ? At just 2 days it may take up wards of a week for it to settle in for you.. But you can check the mixing chamber to see the air is mixing with the water as it should and as I recall from the one I have seen there is an adjustment.. Open that on up full blast .. I also think its not rated for anything much over 15 gallons in size ? Like I said I have only seen one so that this for what its worth..
