So, I went ot check my nano here a few minutes ago and I saw a brittle star leg segment lying in the sand. So I touched the a star leg that was attached and it broke off.

Ooooooo. Must be dead. I took out the rock it had made it's home in. Wow.

Has anyone tried to get a dead brittle star out of really porous live rock? Wow again. I finally got it out in about 20 pieces. I dosed the tank with Prime and rearranged the rock.

Kind of a fire and ice kind of day. I sprout a leak in my main tank. I lose a brittle star.

But I did go to the LFS today and find a Pulsating Xenia frag that I had to have and one of them thar purple dottybacks (I had been looking for one of those for quite some time). I really like the Pseudochromis. It is purrrrddddy. My wife requested it about three months ago. So there you have it. An interesting day.

You are correct. How silly of me. Just when I am dealing with the FLOOD that is my tank leak. OK, that was an overstatement. A few drops per ten seconds. BUT IT COULD BE A FLOOD!!!! OK, I am over it.

Here is pretty good pic of my LN Hawkfish and friends:

Here is a pic of my brand new Pulsating Xenia frag of death:

Enjoy.......I will try to, even though I am currently dealing with THE GREAT FLOOD (drops) OF 2008!!!!!

EDIT: The dottyback is shy. No pics for you.

lol, I probably would have waited to make sure that leak was fixed before adding anything else to the tank, but fine looking specimens none the less.

Ummmmmmmm. I must have missed something here. The dottyback likes to dine on shrimp? I do have a rather large CBS. What do you think?

Totally, i put a pepper shrimp in with a dotty without realizing it in quite a small tank. I had the shrimp for about a week before he vanished without a trace.
The dottyback became super aggressive too.
