came home to my male flame wrasse dead on top of my mesh cover. how did it jumped out with the mesh cover on top? i don't know and cannot figure it out. the mesh are not big enough for it to just jump. anyway it landed directly under the metal halide so he might have a painful death. i just can't get over it right now. my 2 female flame are now without a man. so i am thinking, do i need to replace him? or let the other female switch to a male ( i might already be too late), or buy a pair of rhomboid wrasse with a super male.
don't know what to do right now, i'll just sleep on it tonight and make my decision tomorrow
    any input is appreciated.

Sorry to hear; been there plenty of times.

Do you have any gaps at all around the edge of the screen? If not, I'd check to make sure there's no breaks in the netting.

One of the females will turn male within a month. A full transition will take anywhere from 2-3 weeks to 2-3 months. You can replace him, but you need to do it within a week.

Whether you replace him or not does not factor into adding some rhomboids. You can mix fairy wrasses.

    PM'ing you.

Correct. The only fairy wrasse rule to never violate (unless you really know what you're doing), is to not mix two supermales of the same species. You can mix two males of different species. I have 7 different species of wrasses in my tank (9 wrasses total).

Even if you don't add another male flame, one of your females WILL transition. I'd put $100 on it. ;)

Sorry to hear that. Wrasses are amazing jumpers. As to the addition, you could add another female and let whichever one wants to be dominant switch.

See, i have been misinformed up until now! i've always had the impression of i can't keep two wrasse males (doesn't matter what specie) in the same tank.

i will let one of the female flame change to a male.
i'm in a process of acquiring a pair of rhomboid wrasse with a super male for $***.**. this one is a good deal. ;D

Do use the acclimation box technique I PM'd you about. You won't have any serious problems if you go that route.
