Well folks, it's been a long run with my long tentacle anemone. Despite him(Yes, it was a male) only being with me for 6 months, he gave me hours and hours of viewing pleasure. Noticed a few weeks ago that he wasn't doing so well, quite indrawn. Yesterday I noticed that he was attempting to crawl up the side of the rock (quite unusual for a LTA who normall burrows his foot in the sand). Then i noticed that he was oozing from a large gash in his foot. No idea where the gash came from but he was losing way too much of his bodily contents, so I had to do what any humane aquarist would do :( . I do know that I will miss him

I am sorry for your loss but keep an eye on the rest of your tank as dying anenomies can poison your tank from toxins.

Nah, I think I'll hold off on anemones for now and just stick with my coral.
