RIP Matty… This breaks my heart that he lost his life at such a young age. At least he is not in pain anymore and taking those awful drugs. I lost my dad to cancer 2 years ago and it hurts that he is not here anymore but also I am glad cause watching him suffer was no way for a person to live. Matty, unfortunately I did not get a chance to know you but save us a seat on the other side.

I'm so sorry to hear this loss. I have leukemia/lymphoma but I grieve more for the others that are worse than I. This is a little something I wrote a while back and it probably doesn't apply to someone so young but it might be healing to somebody reading.

Matty, you have many who will remember you here at 3reef. May God bless.

This is such sad news, I can't even put into words. We exchanged a few emails over our tanks and critters that live in our tanks. Then a week later was his post abuot leaving. I prayed that he would get better, it's just not fair for someone so young be put through such hardships in life. I have seen what cancer does to a body, my dad is a cancer survivor, and all I can really find peace in, is knowing Matty is in a pain-free place now.
RIP buddy, may you be in a happy place!

I didn't really know him but my condolences go out to his family and friends.
It is truly a sad thing that a child should pass before his parents.
I hope he has found peace and joy on the other side.

I am very sorry to hear of this. He was always helpful funny and a great part of 3reef. This is very sad. This is such a horrible illness and we can only hope for a cure. My thoughts are and prayers are with him and his family.

words seem to be not enough or hollow sounding. but its the best i can do in sending my condolensces to matt's family and friends. truely a sad thing. when quality of life deteriorates as such here, its a blessing that he has gone where theres no more pain .

and stay strong sarah. look forward to having you back when you feel stronger.
