Well, my tank has been up and running now for about 6 months and I had my first fish loss yesterday! My lyretail anthias when I came home was laying on the sand bed getting eaten by all of my nassarius snails. I took him out right away. I really don't know what happened. The rest of my fish are fine. My LFS said I needed to get a couple female anthias in there to keep his bright color but he never said anything about getting them to keep the male alive. But I think he was just lonely and bored. The days before he was being very lazy, just laying around and swimming every once in awhile. I didn't think anything of it because he was still eating and swimming well when he swam. He did lose some color but I assumed that was just from not having females in there. Hopefully nothing else will follow his path.
    RIP in fishy!

Anthias shouldnt really be kept alone, I have a male and a female!

Sorry about your loss, unfortunately it happens and fish die for no explained reason. It doesnt mean you have done anything wrong, just the way it goes.

Sorry for your loss. They should be kept at least as a pair, but the more the merrier. They need to be fed at LEAST twice a day and a good size tank b/c they like to swim alot.
