RIP Spanky (our dog) 4/28/10 :(

Sad day, our family dog of 17 years, Spanky, is being put to sleep . He has had medical problems for the past 5 years but we had a procedure done and he has lived comfortably. He developed a tumor and is now in too much pain so my mom decided it's time.

I'll miss you buddy we watched each other grow up and it's hard to know he won't be around anymore but I'm glad he'll be at peace without pain now, bye Spanky

 

I am very sorry to hear this. Dogs are wonderful companions.

 

I'm am also very sad to hear. We lost our dog 2 years ago(after 9 years), it is very hard to let go when they are a part of your family.

 

Sorry to hear. Been there. You did what was right for your friend. I still miss Angel 3 years later.

 

Sorry for the loss. Spanky looked like quite the friend.

 

Thanks everyone. He was having problems yesterday and we thought it was something little. They brought him to the vet this morning and my mom just called me an hour ago with the news. I honestly didn't think it would hit me this hard, but 17 years is basically half my life so even though it was inevitable it is very tough.

 

I'm so sorry to hear this MoJoe. Think of all the fun stuff he got to do as a dog, and it might help a little.

It's been about 3 years since we had to put our Molly dog down, and it still brings a tear to my eye.

 

I'm sorry for your loss. They aren't "just dogs" are they? They are a member of the family.

 

hey mojoe. im really sorry for your lose. such sad news for you. i know its gonna sit with you a while , but it will pass. just gotta think of all the times spanky listened to your troubles, your good news. the playful times and the lounging around. and all the time having unconditional love for you and your family. take care buddy.
