    Hello everyone,

Yesterday I have lost my porcupine puffer to Ick.
He was my favourite by far.
Today I am more knowledgeable but it came at a price.
I am treating the other three fish with Hyposalinity process.
    But my puffer is gone.

Fish keeping has taught me that as a future doctor (hopefully), I cannot allow myself to learn from my mistakes too often.
It took an octopus and a puffer for me to learn that.

    This is to them.

    Thank you.

Sorry for your loss. Puffers aren't the toughest fish when it comes to ich.

From one future doc to another.. gl with the hyposalinity treatment. One of the main factors with ich when i was battling is ensuring they're eating with garlic additives to food. It's more a flavour thing to get them to eat it, but it has been show to help boost metabolism and indirectly the immune system. GL

Thanks everyone. It means alot to have your support.

Thank you for the garlic info, i have read about it but you reinforce it.

The puffer was what i was most attached to.

Tonight when I got home, I also found my cinnamon clown deceased. I believe that it could not tolerate the hyposalinity procedure. The Bird wrasse is slow but fine, and so is my black spotted grouper.

I was not as attached to the clown as he lacked personality, but this shows that my battle is not yet over.

Should I increase the salinity a little? Now I have 1.009 and pH, Alkalinity are within limits, the lower limit.

    Thank you everyone once again.

And thank you for all the posts on this website. They have helped me much in becoming a better fish keeper and a more organised person.

    Sorry for being emotional.
