In this image see the white lines surrounding the oral opening?

That is one thing I look for in a BTA.

BTA have no Verrucae ( lumps or protrusions) on the column. A Rittrei will have them but not prominent, they will look like bumps basically.

A Ritteri should have tentacles of uniform thickness that do not taper at the ends, much like a BTA without the bubble tips.

    Hope that helps a little.

Agreed. I'm not sure on the ID, but I don't think it is H. magnifica (Ritteri). The tentacles and the bottom of the oral disk do not look quite right to me for H. mag.

That definitely helps, I will have to take a look once he opens up today., To me it looks like his tentacles taper, some of them are weird and blobby but not quite like a bubble, and its not everwhere, Here is a picture of some of what I mean its a little messed up but you can still see what im talking about.

I want to say BTA, but unsure. If a Ritteri it will probably seek the highest point in the tank to receive the most intense lighting.

    It looks good.

well if its moving around a lot thats sort of points to a bta. in my experience ritteris once established in a good lit spot with good flow they will stay there forever.
