Ok, so I just bought a RKL with the net module. I'm having trouble getting it to work. I posted on the DA forums, and send DA an email. DA is out until Jan. 3 on vacation, so I was wondering if anyone here has had the same problem? Here's my post there:

"So, I just got a RKL Net from my local fish store, and I'm having a problem with setup. All the other modules work correctly (most of the time; hooking it up to myreef is somewhat hit and miss, as many times modules just don't appear in the list, appear as blank entries, or the whole screen seems to refresh constantly and be very choppy, like the GUI code for myReef is just plain buggy), except for the NET. I can't get to the webpage when it's hooked up to the rest of the system and the local network (even though I found its IP [in my router's DHCP table; the net detection software didn't find it] and used that, as well as http://rkm-net ), and when I hook up the SID to the Net, it doesn't show up in myReef 2.0 (unlike the other modules). The status light on the Net just flashes constantly, with a regular interval.

Thing is, the situation under which it was bought seems a bit weird to me. I bought it from the LFS, but it took quite a while for them to get it in due to wholesaler problems. When I finally got it today, the box was labeled "ReefKeeper Lite (Plus)" (a very plain box; I thought more would be put into the packaging than a simple brown cardboard box with a small (2" by .5") sticker with just a barcode and the RKL label), and the Net module came separate, but not in a box at all. The LFS said it was loose in the bigger box it was shipped to him in, and he actually almost threw it out with the packaging material. It was missing the screws and a bus cable, but came with a short ethernet cable.

So, is there anything that strikes you as an option to try to resolve this issue?"

What version of windows are you one .. some of the default Vista and win7 network setting/firewalls could be blocking the rkm software

Windows 7 on two different computers, using Firefox, and I tried IE too. I don't think that's the issue though, as the SID doesn't recognize the Net module at all. Usually, when you plug a module into the SID, you're supposed to be able to see it in myReef, but the Net doesn't show up. All the other modules do.

Yeah man. There was a whole load of BS with getting the controller to begin with, since the wholesaler for my LFS made some bad decisions (he decided, without telling the LFS, to hold off on shipping my RKL because he didn't have a Vortech MP10 to bundle with it for shipping, even though the LFS put in the orders separately). I'm glad to have 90% of it done now, though haha. Just gotta get the last module working.

    Keep trying!!!

I have alse been eyeing up the RKL +Net - so I (along with others, I presume) would be interested to hear what you have to say about it!

I don't know about the RK, but the AC units come in a plain box with cheap label. I am assuming that if your are purchasing one of these controllers, you really don't need a fancy box telling you what it does. Most people spend months researching controllers before pulling the trigger.

    Good luck with your issue.
