    LOL he's only about 1.5" long! Man I can't believe it. When I ordered the Wennerae I was like oh well. But then this guy comes and I can't believe it! He's so pretty! Even his raptoral appendages are blue.

    How big will he get?! In my mind mantis shrimp are monsters. I don't know where I got that idea! Lol

    Some species get big enough to eat and are fished for. Like almost a foot long I believe.
    This little guy wont get much bigger than 3".

    Ahhh okay, I must have only seen pics of the big ones or something.
    Well that is a great size for your lil' guy!! I can't wait to see pictures of him loving his new home!

    Probably shouldn't have done the drip acclimation. Low oxygen is harder on them than a salinity swing. It should be fine though.

    Very beautiful mantis for sure.

    I was wondering. Richard sent me an email concerned with my acclimation procedure and said he need to be dripped for an hour. I thought "umm o.k." but since this is my first. Maybe I should stop the drip and put him in?

    Any time I get an invert I float for 15 minutes.
    while still floating I add 1 cup of tank water and sit for a couple more minutes and then dump em on in. *knock on wood* I've had absolutely no fatalities.
