Thanks! I don't know how to tell male/female on wennerae and can't find anything on it so for now it'll be a he. lol
Pics could be difficult. He's made his first den under the pvc at the back of the tank behind the rock. Hopefully he get over his shyness and moves to the front.

I actually got him to come out of his den and eat some mysid! :)
His dinner plate from reefcleaners came today as well. I'd ordered 3 Porcelain Crabs for him along with some dwarf ceriths and hermies. The Porcelains started feeding on crud in the water with thier little fans and when it comes to stuff like that my heart goes all soft and mushy so one of them went into my DT and the other two will live thier days out on the "1/2 Mile". (That's my nickname for the food tank).

I always end up liking the live food too. Its why I feed frozen mice to my snake now. :)

I bet he'll come around, shyness wise... mine still even has his shy days. He will love it if you have a lot of small chunks of rubble in there. Mine is a master builder! Its awesome! Itds also fun when he gets use to eating the mysis and assoiates the smell with food, I will hide a peice somewhee in a crack in the rock or wherever, and he comes out and goes on the hunt... I also got to see him bash a hermit the other day... FRICKIN SWEET!!!!!

I could talk about these little guys all day lol

... and I agree, it is VERY cute when. They do somersalts, they move in all sorts of odd ways, its all part of they're awesome personallity... he will recognize you as well, I had a friend over the other day, and mine wouldn't come out unless I lured him out with food... if I'm the only one here he's out checkin me out along with all the new stuff I give him. I like to give him rubble and shells to smash and build with.... he seems to appreaciate it, he comes right out and starts inspecting it, like right when it hits lol they're too funny! I already wana set up another Mantis tank! Lol

This thread really makes me want a mantis!! Maybe I can set one up in my home office.....or I'll set it up next to the main reef tank, link the water systems so that they're shared = more water volume for Mr. Mantis.

NOICE!! I can't wait to see Bucky bust something. Well I got to feel him hit the net handle but I want to see him KO a crab or snail. LOL There should be plenty of rubble sized stuff in there for him + a bunch of shells and junk. He dug a den out under the PVC and just his eye's poke out above the sand. He did have to come to the food though, I put it in the corner. He made a mad dash, ate and was gone by the time I could get the camera to focus.
