It's a very sad afternoon! I have just removed the Bucky's body from the tank. It looks like he died trying to molt. :(

This sucks! I was hoping it WAS just his molt that I took out but it's him. It's to fleshy and smells to bad to be just a molt!

Thanks everyone. Man I hate losing anything. It makes me feel like a failure and the fact that I had him for such a short time makes it even worse. I don't know when I'll get another one.

    RIP Buckster

It has nothing to do with you Mike!! You gave him a great home. He just wasn't strong enough. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Thanks Kacy. I keep reminding myself of the shape he was in when he first got here, that drunken scurry I mentioned early on. Two nights ago when I fed he didn't attack the piece of fish with his usual gusto and gave up quickly. But as he scooted back to his den he looked drunk again so I tested the water but it was fine. I just figuired he was going to molt again. I could see him yesterday and he wasn't moving..no concern after the last time but he still hadn't moved today at all and his green had started to fade so I took the rocks apart and lifted him up with the stick I used to feed him with. I hoped like hell it was just a molt but when I had it out of the water I could smell him and see that, well just see that it wasnt a molt.
