    3rd times the charm! ?

Well after two losses I'm hoping this new O. Havanensis will be the one that was meant for me. I'm pretty confident that it's healthier than Bucky was. It's already building a den right where I'll be able to see it. It's not shy either! When it notices me watching, it comes into the open and watches me! It's so cool!! I've got to see it grab little bunches of pebbles and move them where it wants them. It is so much more active than Bucky was.
Sorry for the blurry pics. I'll try to get some better ones later. I also want to get a short vid of the den construction. Thats super cool to watch!

It's got a pretty big dish dug out for a den already. Waaay more active than my other one. I'm hoping it'll be the one. It's also alot more social than the first. Itll actually come and check me out while I'm checking it out lol. I tried to get vid but I only have a Kodak point and shoot to use and it's just to dark to see anything.

Thank you. I hope so too. In just the few hours I've had it it's been everything I imagined a mantis would be. It's pretty cool that it comes out to see what I want. LOL

Well I'm confused. I assumed that O. Havanensis slept at night. ? But this one is busy working and exploring the tank.
So far it has dished out a huge area under the rock on the right of the tank. It piled up most of the rubble and pebbles between the rock and the glass. At the back of the dish is the bottom rock on the left side of the tank. It (i'm thinking its a female actually) dug a burrow there and has used a couple shells and bigger rubble to shore up the opening. Earlier I offered it a chunk of deli shrimp. It smacked the stick and the shrimp fell off and rolled down into it's burrow. Then the crazy mantis goes down, gets the chunk and packs it out and stacks it on the pebble pile! LOL
