I really wanted to get video of the whole event but all I have is my Nikon CoolPix and it was too dark in the back corner she was smashing it in. She's been after that crab since I dropped it in there a couple months ago but it always seemed to find a spot she could get to it before giving up. This morning I could hear the clicks and thought she was hitting the glass. Turns out it was the crab getting the beating...

Actually I've been playing around trying to get bit. Want to beat Stepho @ the first 3reefer to hand feed their mantis. I always chicken out and drop the food as soon as she leaves her den though. LOL

I'm with Steve tell us more... and if I bring a small cot can I move in? ;D

I believe there has already been a 3reefer who hand fed. It might have been Jwin. As soon as I get a new mantis though I am going to hand feed it the very first day just in case.

Steve here's the abridged version...had a partially finished basement for 11 years. 4 years ago we got a loan and sank almost 20k into totally gutting and finishing it with 2 more bedrooms, a full bath and a huge area to finally get my wifes in home day care off the main floor. Last spring the sump failed and it flooded. We spent another 2k in preparation to add drain tile a new sump plus an additional one in another corner. In July there where trenches cut along the parameter of the entire basement along with two new uncovered holes for the sumps and two rolls of brand new carpet/pad. We got 8" of rain in a week and the basement REALLY flooded. This time there was no insurance cuz no sump in place and my wife said $%$# alot, then told me I could have all that space for whatever I wanted.
    Yes there is internet
Yes there is a mini fridge, microwave, cable t.v.
Yes there is a new used sofa and recliner
I also finished the sumps and patched the concrete, it still gets a little wet in a couple spots but no more ankle deep water. ;D

Im not noisy, and nobody likes me, so guests at all hours wont be an issue LOL

Its sad you went through all that turmoil, but wow, what a result at the end of it.
