I've had my filters on my rodi unit for a couple months, probably only made 100 gallons of water total. I use my outside hose which is well water, and I left my unit outside in a rainstorm, and now it is registering anywhere from 3-4 up to 15 on my TDs meter. I feel like I should have a whole lot more use out of it before replacing the filters again. It's an air water and ice 75gpd unit - any thoughts on rinsing out the unit or any other ways I can get it back to where it should be?

Find out the TDS from your hose

    TDS after membrane

and then TDS after DI again and post results.

I have well water also and my TDS is around 300 at the spigot. I ran about 100 gallons through mine and the RODI output is starting to climb from 0 to 1-2. My color changing resin is all brown so I kinda seen that coming.

I keep all acros so I can't really mess with over 0 rodi - does this mean I have to change my filters every 100 gallons?

That's only like a 50% rejection rate. I think you need a new membrane. I'd wait for AZDesertRat to jump in and say.

How much PSI is running through the membrane?

What is your psi coming from hose.
Also did you do your waste:flirted meaning did you get a 3:1 ratio on waste to processed water

Did you let the system run several minutes before getting the RO only TDS of 50?
If so, you definitely are in need of a new RO membrane. Membranes must be kept in a climate controlled space like indoors or the garage if you live in a moderate climate, outside is not ideal.

I had a AWI Typhoon III and never did like its performance so switched to Spectrapure and have never once regretted it, the difference is night and day.

Test your TDS again making sure to let the system run at least 10 minutes to make sure the TDS is actual and not the results of TDS creep.
If it is still high, by high I mean anything more than 5-6% of the tap water TDS so no more than maybe 6 or 8 TDS. My tap water is around 600 TDS and my RO only TDS is between 2 and 3, with my old AWI system it was 13-15 so DI didn't last more than 150 gallons no matter what I tried. Huge cost savings in DI replacements alone.

I'm not sure what the PSI is, I don't have a way to measure that unfortunately. I will try to run it for 10 minutes and test again.

I'll try replacing the membrane and got from there.

Three things that are a must to troubleshoot a RO/DI system are a handheld TDS meter, inline pressure gauge and thermometer. Both temperature and pressure have a huge effect on the RO membranes efficiency. Its about impossible to know how well it is working without them.
