Generally, you get what you pay for. Especially in ReefKeeping, this seems to be the case. The first unit in your post has a horizontal DI chamber. I've read that these are more susecptable to chanelling--a condition whereby as the resin settles and becomes smaller, the water works its way into small gulleys within the resin, causing it to bypass much of the media--not good.

The Kent is supposedly a decent brand, but I don't have any experience with it. I dealt with the H20 Guru (as he's called on ebay). If you've shopped around, he's the guy from airwaterice.com. He sells a fantastic product, and at a fair price. I got the 5 Stage Typhoon system. It was $169 plus about $20 bucks for shipping. Ordered it on a Friday, received it Tuesday. Great customer support.

Well, it really depends on your wallet, then try to find a well known name brand so its easy to find the replacement filters. I bought a used R/O system on ebay and it turned out great. Try this web site also www.purewaterclub*com. hope this helps, Luna

YAY recieved the OK from the Boss "Wife" LOL
Now there are too many options in that website

1. There is the option of 75GPD or 100GPD "Not sure why you would choose the lower Gallons Per Day?" So go with the 100 ?
2. Connector options,,,
There is the Hose / Supply Valve / or Faucet .. Planned on connecting the unit under the sink I have in the garage which is the connector from the wall or would this be unwise, and if this is a good idea would that be the supply valve option?>
Thnx again the Noobie Phil..

Its recommended that a slower GPH is better.

Congrats on your purchase, good luck with it. I would also recommend a TDS meter when you get a chance. That device will tell you when its time to replace the filters. This is where I bought my at. P U R E W A T E R C L U B

TDS meter

What is the difference between that and the one that tells you when you are filtering the water ?

Heard the same too, but also know lots of people who are using them without a problem.

Or you could do like a buddy of mine did. Bought $10 worth of fittings and hose at Home Depot and stood both of his DI units on end next to the main filters using the brackets supplied. He has had his for 2 years without a problem and he paid less than 80 bucks on eaby.
