My RO/DI system has worked flawlessly, but since I've replaced the filters it continually runs and never shuts off, I just noticed this. I didn't touch anything but the filter canisters. If it's running and I pinch the line going from the water line into the RO/DI unit then it will shut off instantly, until the fish tank top off opens the line.

Not sure mate. Might have to send it back for warranty/repairs.

But a bump for you anyway.

You probably have air trapped in the housings and it will not allow pressure to build up and shut the ASOV off since air compresses and water does not.

With the RO hooked upand running, pick the system up in your hands and slowly rotate it around in all directions and orientations to release any trapped air. It usually works.

If not you may need a check valve on the ASOV circuit. Many vendors do not include this and it really does make the ASOV work more positively for just a few $$.

Probably time for a new ASOV then, it was worth a try.

I went and tried it again and it did drop pressure, hopefully it works. My di is pretty much exhausted basically. :/ I just bought a new filter set too :(

Nope, didn't work, the BRS live chat guy told me ASO's can't break so it's a issue somewhere else?

Brandon: Hi there, How can we help you today?

Devin: Do you all have any warranty on your 1/4" auto shut off valve? I have not owned it very long and it seems I need a new one as it's not working correctly

Brandon: There isn't, but to be entirely honest there isn't anything to break on one

ASOV's go bad all the time. Usually its a build up on the valves and seats inside but they do go bad. I have replaced two of my own over the past 15 years and many for others. They are a mechanical device however simple but still prone to wearing out and failure. There are also different grades and qualities of ASOV's on the market.
