    Yes, a TDS of 1 has nothing to do with replacing the filters as I pointed out above, the TDS is determined by the membrane and DI not the other filters which reove TSS and chlorine. If anything you can replace the prefilter and carbon based on pressure drop across the filters array and chlorine breakthru as evidenced with a low range chlorine test kit. The 6 month method is much easier.
