Very helpful and detailed thank you! I really like BulkReefSupply but after looking at all their units they seem kind of expensive for what they are in comparison to others. The only thing I dont like about those spectrapures is they do not provide very much detail in their descriptions. In the link above for the refurbished spectrapure rodi-90 it doesnt mention if it has an auto flush or an inline tds monitor.

This one from MarineDepot seems to have everything. Is it really worth it to spend the extra cash on a new RO/DI unit like this over the refurbished model on spectrapures website? With the free shipping on MarineDepot the difference ends up being around $80.

The Spectrapure systems are brand new, they are not used.
They may have a scuff or scratch onb a housing or bracket so cannot be sold as new but essentially everything is brand new and carries their warranty.
They do not include a flush kit as it is a total waste of money and adds no proven documented value. Don't waste your money on one as all it does is give you a warm fuzzy feeling and lighten your wallet.

They do not include an inline TDS meter and really you want a good handheld TDS meter anyway since it is more accurate and much more versatile. To troubleshoot a RO/DI system you need 3 TDS readings, tap water, RO only and final RO/DI and the inlines only show two of those three so have very limited value. With the handheld you can test all three plus your ATO storage, LFS water, bottled water, loan it to your buddy etc. Plus the good handhelds are truly temperature compensated unlike the inlines so are more accurate and have a built in digital thermometer so serve dual purpose.

Here is everything you would ever want to know about the refurbished systems:

and everything you would ever want to know about hooking it up or adding accessories like an ASOV and float valve or float switches and a solenoid or an add on membrane or dual DI or...
