I have a new 5 stage RO/DI set up, it has a inline pressure gauge and also a dual TDS meter, it meters the in going and out going water. Here are the questions:: I understand that 40 psi is the low limit to make it work right. My gauge goes to 100 psi and my psi is past that 100+, what is the ideal psi ??. And the TDS reading,, I am new at this, what #s should I be looking for. I just installed the meter tonight and the in going is 100ppm and the out going is 085ppm. I was thinking that the in going should be more and the out going should be less. the system has only been operating for one week,,Thanks for the replys

Under 100 is good...but it should read 0!

Whered you get it? Maybe you got used membranes :(

100+psi , you might want to wear safety goggles to shower, wouldnt want to take an eye out ;D. Thats awesome pressure are you using some kind of pump to pump the water?

No on the pump, thats right out of the county pipe, I bought the system on ebay, the membrane was in a sealed bag, thats not to say some one sealed a used one up.. I didn't think about a used filter. But is'nt 100ppm going in alittle low

If 100 ppm is going into the unit, I say great! The TDS coming out of the unti should be less than 10 ppm though. The more pressure, the better. The only thing you have to worry about is the pressure rating of your filter housings. The housings across the bottom, if clear, usually can only withstand up to 75 psi. If they're white, usually they can withstand up to 100 psi.

Run about 15 gallons through it and discard before you test. There is some particulate in the filters when new and must be flushed out.

If your tap water is 100 ppm your Ro water should be 10 or less, and your DI water should read 0 or 1 ppm tds.
