I just got my spectrapure RO/DI unit and hooked it up outside at my garden hose faucet. The pressure is only 32 psi, will this pressure rise after the unit has been running for a while and everything gets saturated? Otherwise, do I need to buy a booster or something to get the pressure up?

No. Mine is between 55 & 60 psi. If you can not raise it, then you need a booster pump. Do you have a well or city water.

Also, you want to connect it to the shortest run to your water supply. You are going to loose too much pressure that way. Also, why do you have it connected that way??

Yeah, you're going to need a booster. Is there any other place to connect it closer to the main line in your house, like somewhere in the basement where the water comes in?

First of all thanks for the input! I have well water, it is hooked up outside right now because I just opened it and wanted to make sure everything was working. I have to do some work to hook it up in my basement to the main. My dad told me the pressure is the same throughout the entire house whether it is hooked up to the outside faucet or in the basement. I guess I will just have to get a booster.

All of the boosters I've seen have been decently expensive. Spectrapure has a sale, and is quite a bit cheaper. Pumps are at the bottom, get one that's the right GPH rating for your RODI.

++++ thanks for reminding me I almost bought it off the main site for 200. Got it on the special site for 129 which doesn't make me feel to bad.... not like I have much of a choice and it still beats going to walmart for distilled water all the time

My pressure was consistently around 43 psi. I got tired of replacing the filters and membrane every few months. I purchased a booster from BRS for around $230.00. The moment I hooked it up, my pressure went from 43psi to 92 psi. If your household pressure is low, the booster pump is a great investment.
