I have my RO/DI hooked up. I know some of this is "me too" threadism, sorry guys. Wanted my own thread so I can ask questions too responses.

I flushed it for an hour like it said. It's been going for a while now to fill up the reservoir (going on 28 hours now, filled maybe 3-4 gallons). The level-loc should turn it off when it is filled.

I know these are slow... but isn't that a bit too slow?

It has a TDS meter from the RO -> the DI and one from the DI -> out.

The first is 15 at first and the second was 0. A couple hours later and it was 85 and 0 respectively. That was yesterday.

Today, it is 62 and 0.

That doesn't seem normal to me. The reservoir is filling w/0, so that's fine... but seems like the DI is getting dirty water.

The PSI is about 62. So that's good.

Is it because it's new? Will the RO water TDS drop after a while? Should I do something?

Does the output rate seem slow to you too?

That is way too slow. I can fill a 5 Gal bucket in about an hour. Crimped line?

It is possible for your TDS to fluctuate like that coming in. As long as your output stays at 0, I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't want to kill the life of my DI by having such high TDS going in... I believe that's what's going to happen...

I think, from my reading, that is the end result I'm looking at...

Combining the reading with the output speed... could they be connected?

no kinked lines... they are coiled however, loosely.

Boy after what I just went through I feel for ya..
I dont see what unit you bout though , so it is hard to say if that output is too slow or not. I have learned that it takes a day or two for units to get full production.

    PSI looks great
TDS should be close to 0, but maybe after a day or two

Does your unit have RO and RO/DI oputput and is that what you are questioning ?

I would take a look at the DI resin filter if you have a question on the DI purity, but again, all units report different success.

    Good luck

Yes, TDS before DI is too high, it's not normal for a new membrane IMO but still depends on your tap water. What it is straight from the tap? Mine is a little below 300 and TDS going into the DI is between 6 and 9.
And yes, it is very slow.. should be getting at least 3-4g per hour.
    What kind of RODI unit?

The DI piece is separate. The blue runs from the main rig to the DI and from the DI to the reservoir. The TDS monitor is on both sides of the DI piece.

Should I just wait another day or so for the RO to output lower TDS?

This is the unit I have.

The TDS scores haven't changed since last posting. Nor has the output speed increased noticeably.

The output does flow into a Level-Loc and flows out the bottom of that. When I say "flow", I mean "drip".

Which gives me the idea that I should disengage it from this and see if that speeds up... I'll check that and report back in a few.

    Level-Loc

The water level is far below where any of this device is touching. But it is only dripping.

OK, I am a dweeb. I loosened the compression nut on the Level-Loc a tiny hair and the flow increased to a steady stream and the RO TDS dropped to 8.

So, this little problem has been solved ;D

Compression nut? Well, glad u fixed it, now your TDS before DI should below 10 and 0 after DI.
