    Forum :

Good morning we are looking for ideas for our next 100g Reef Savvy build in reference to a creative way to store a 30 gallon drum for our Ro/Di water. We live in a condo setting so for the past two years we have been lugging several 5g water jugs weekly from our LFS to a third floor for our WC's yeah painful we look at it as dedication!

We will be purchasing a BRS 5 Stage Value RO/DI System but wanted to store the reservoir inside the apartment but make it somewhat conspicuous so any ideas or pics would be welcome. Here is a basic idea of what we want to do and gives us an opportunity to get rid of some of the wife's furniture clutter......LMAO

    Thanks in advance guys....

Get a Spectrapure unit.Hands down better then the BRS unit.;)
You can make a simple box out of acrylic or use a plastic container.Preferably food grade plastic.

Thanks for the input we will look into the spectrapure system. As far as the container itself we are on the same page im looking for creative ways to hide or disguise the reseviour.

    Thanks again for the feedback.

1/4" line around the base boards into a small patch-able hole under the sink. As far as containers go if you can put something under the end tables with a float valve nobody will ever see it.

Agreed that was my first thought as well im considering drywall to camouflage it also once painted it should disappear pretty much.

Vinny do you own a spectrapure system? What are the advantages or disadvantage over the BRS 5 Stage Value RO/DI System?

My Spectrapure RO/DI and ATO storage are in my garage 35 feet from my display and sump in the family room. I ran a 1/4" line through the wall into the kitchen, under the base cabinets then behind the baseboard molding to the sump where the ATO/peristaltic pump sits next to the sump. The ATO storage is a 23 gallon Rubbermaid recycling can with float switches mounted 12" apart so the level in the ATO storage must drop 12" or 11 measured gallons before the RO/DI comes on to replenish it. This eliminates the effects of TDS creep inherent with cheap float valves and their constant on and off action.

You can get a much better Spectrapure system for only around $130 which uses lower micron filters, a treated and batch tested high rejection rate RO membrane, an inline pressure gauge, a better capillary tube flow restrictor and custom blended fresh DI resin.

A small nightstand/dresser works for your reservoir.Just cut a hole/holes in the back if need be.;)

Yeah this one has potential LOL ...... Thanks AZDesertRat it is basically what i had in mind although after some research i may just have the reservoir out on my balcony and as you are suggesting running a 1/4 line along the baseboard which we all agree would lend itself to looking seamless and clean. As far as the Ro/Di system i am leaning towards what my research and the forums feedback is suggesting the Spectrapure system it seems the replacement filters are more economical as well.
