That would be awesome. I guess it all depends on available funds. If money is tight, why not just buy a Merlin and nab the add-on that Air, Water, Ice has for it? Air, Water, Ice is a sponsor too.

EDIT: If money was no object, that's what I would get.

Well money is always an object but I do want a system that conserves water and is easy to deal with. I don't want to just waste money though.

I am not sure what most fish stores do for rodi water.
I did budget 1500.00 for a system but didn't really research for it. It was just a guess.

I don't want to regret the purchase after the fact but I also don't feel I need to become an expert on a large ro/di system. I just want some reassurance that there is not something else I should get.

Is your store going to be 100 percent saltwater? If so, then over time, the Spectrapure system will pay for itself. If you're going to have marine and fresh, the wastewater from the RO/DI from the Merlin and add-on is ok for the freshies. I'm in a precarious position here because both vendors are sponsors. I like both of them. I've used both of them.

Spectrapure is top of the line and what many large LFS use in fact. You will also find their units in many many coffee shops around the country. The Merlin really doesn't compare, its not nearly as efficient which is what you are shooting for.
Talk to the folks at Spectrapure and tell them your thoughts, they can build about anything to fit your exact needs. You can contact them right here on 3 Reef through their Sponsors Forum at the bottom of the main page, they help support this site for all of us to use.
I am not connected to them in any way but I do use a lot of their products and have been more than happy with every one of them. They truly are innovators in the industry.

I might mention here, my personal RO/DI system at home is the 100 GPD MaxCap UHE, a smaller version of the one you are looking at and I have been extremely pleased with its performance. Not inexpensive to purchase by any means but its amazing how well it works. I have had the UHE installed about 14 months and have only replaced ONE MaxCap DI cartridge in that time, big long term cost savings.
