^^ I hear ya. My neighbors prob think I'm running a meth lab in my house with all the 5gal buckets and a 300gal water tote that randomly appears in the bed of my truck! I was thinking of tapping into my washer hose line and using my 300gal drum for the reservoir.. that Spectrapure brand goes for $250-$350 on Ebay. EEK

FYI there is a 90gal refurbished unit on sale right now 139.00 that is an easy decision in my opinion.

    https://www.spectrapure.com/

PS looks like you would need to purchase and add the in-line TDS which is another 40 or so but a 5min job.

Nothing comes close to Spectrapure. They specialy treat all their RO memranes to improve the performance then either batch or individually hand test them for quality control. They also long term test sediment and carbon filters before they add them to their inventory so you only get the very best, low micron, near absolute filters and they are the only popular vendor to custom blend all their own DI resins for specific uses.

Having owned 6 different RO/DI systems over the last 15 years I can honestly say there is no equal and have kept log books to back that statement up.

Yes you can, they are all standard size 10" filters, Dow Filmtec 1812 series membrane size and their refillable DI cartridges fit standard canisters, even their new Super DI cartridges with 30% more capacity.

The RO Buddy is a very low end system and you probably will not be happy with its performance or the lifespan and cost of throwaway replacement filters. You will soon have more invested than if you has spent $140-$170 or so on a real RO/DI system

I've been treating my water with prime just incase there's chloramines. Is this overkill with my ro/di system?

If you have a good RO/DI system with a 1 micron or less carbon block and a properly packed full size vertical DI so t has plenty of contact or residence time for the resin to remove the ammonia then you should not need any further treatment.

The keys are a good clean carbon block so the pores in the carbon can remove the ammonia portion of the chloramines and break the bond with the ammonia portion then good DI contact time to remove the ammonia. If the sediment filter is coarse and does not protect the carbons pores then you may have issues or if the DI is not a full size vertical and/or is not packed properly allowing water to channel or short circuit then treatment is not complete.
