    Hey,
    Im looking at RO/DI units.
I am wanting to set up a 55 gallon reef aquarium with corals, invets, and a couple of fish.
Do I need just a RO unit or a RO/DI combination unit?
    Thanks

ro/di is best. Some people would say DI alone is better than RO alone, but either way RO/DI imo is the way to go.

RO/DI, plain and simple. Look into "The Filter Guys", they have the best prices and I got mine (5 stage) from them, I believe it was $135.00.

Looks impressive but I had one given to me and I converted them to vertical D/I and gave it away .. its not that its a bad unit but a horizontal D/I is not worth much and these are not rechargeable you have to buy all new D/I when needed and with them being in the horizontal position then the water just passes through the bottom 1/2 of the resin ..

I used this system (P U R E W A T E R C L U B) bought the less than $100 unit and have been very happy. I rotate the RO cylinder 1/4 turn each time I use it so the horizontal/vertical concern goes away. It does produce as advertised, 100 gallons/day. Small simple unit that I put out on the lawn and let the bypass water go there.

May not be the top end, but if you just want good water at a reasonable price definitely files the bill.
