I am new to the saltwater and freshwater and i would like to use an RoDi unit to make my own water. My setup is as follows. 75 gpd purelyh2o system running into a 32 gallon container, then gravity fed into a 32 gallon container below that to mix my saltwater in. My question is if i use the RoDi water for freshwater and dose with Ro right or something else, can i use the same water to mix my saltwater with or do i need two different containers for RoDi water? Does that make since? I am also new to posting. lol

I would not use RO/DI water that has been treated with R/O Right and then mix salt water. But I would think using the same container to mix each separately should be fine.

    And welcome to 3Reef!

Would it be better to fill the RoDi container up then drain into saltwater mixing barrel then refill fresh water and treat it, or split my system off and fill both containers up. Or can I split the line off and get good water flow? I hope hope you understand what I am trying to say. Lol
If not I will try to explain it better.

I read somewhere to use ro right for the water to go in the freshwater tank. Is that the right stuff or is there something else to use? I have a 75 gallon African cichlid tank and started a 75 gallon saltwater tank plus I my son has a 40 gallon Central African cichlid tank. If there are some other options I would appreciate the advice. Thanks

So by "treated" water do you just mean RO water?

Personally I'd use seperate tubs! 1 for fresh, 1 for salt! Small price to pay to not have to worry about it!

Thank you guys for your help, i will use different containers to be safe.
My next question, can i T off of the RoDi water to fill seperate containers or could i do something with the waist water for the freshwater tank. If so, what i need to make it work. I seen something where you can add to your rodi system and use the waist water to make more RoDi water. Is that something that can be done? Again, thank you all for your help and advice.
