If water is not used within a reasonable time, it sill go stale. Imagine you would, a glass of water. Leave it on the counter for a week or two. Would you drink it afterward? I would think not. With water moving, aeration is created (putting air back into the water)..

I'm not trying to hijack a thread or anything but why shouldn't you drink DI water?

We run kalk/ro di water overnight and it's cold. The temp doesn't change that much. It goes from 80.1 to 80.4 . The heater kicks on and it's on a timmer to add to the tank through a small tube at 10 minute intervals.

You can drink D.I water but if you dink it all the time it will strip your body of electrolytes as its contains nothing and will serve as a flushing agent only.. As for water going stale ? I have never head of that myself , We would bag water for weeks on in when I was in Nam and dank the hell out of it the bladders that where air dropped would set for weeks before being delivered and then weeks to empty.. It tasted like rubber but it was water and better then what was found in your local rice patty or creek toilet :) I myself have 2 50 Gal plastic barrels and one is full of R/O D.I other is full of salt I have a mag 9 to kick on in the salt barrel twice a week to keep it from settling out to the bottom .

I would imagine if the barrel is closed tightly it would make a difference too. If no contaminants can get to it or not.

Good to know about di water. We figured if water ever went out we'd a least have 35 gallons to drink if needed.

How long can you store the salt water safely?

All membrane manufacturers spec their membrane's production and rejection rate at a specific pressure and a specific temperature. All I know of use 25 degrees C/77 degrees F.

The warranty on Filmtec membranes is voided by exposure to temps above 113 F.

We have a calculator on our website that allows you to plug in your specific temp and pressure and see what your membrane should produce under those conditions.
