No Nautilus, I am not arguing one side or the other I just stated that I never herd that before!! so I was just checking into it. I am sure there are valid arguments on both sides and the last thing I want to do is to start another thread like the one that started as a joke and turned into an very vocal discussion about gun control. I have the feeling that this could turn into the same kind of discussion. :-/
As for the fact that DI water ( Tastes different or worse ) I would think to be up to the individual to decide. But to state that it will slowly kill you is a strong statement to make with no data to back it up. that is all I am saying. I for one got very concerned as I am using RO/DI water for drinking, coffee, iced-tea and so on, I have 3 children that live at home with me so your statement carried a lot of weight with me! So I just had to check into it. ;) ;D

I for one like the fact that RO water removes Chlorine (The Poison added to water to kill bacteria ) and Fluoride also a poison added to water for your teeth, I can understand brushing your teeth with a fluoride toothpaste and spitting the stuff out but drinking it every time you have a glass of water I am not so sure is such a good thing! Does Florien, like a lot of poisons have an accumulative effect in your body? I don't know and I am not going to pretend that I do but I do like the fact that my RO/DI Filter takes out the dead and living bacteria and the poison chlorine that was added to my water to kill them, along with many other poisons that are in our everyday drinking water. IMO ;) ;D

I am not finding much information from the manufacturers about the amount of wastewater produced by an RO/DI system. Are there any numbers out there as to how much wastewater I can expect? 8)

Thanks 3reef for being there for us newbies!! ::)

4 gallons of waste to 1 gallon produced depending on the water pressure.

Interesting posts I have found on this subject from other boards.

This is one reason not to store large amount of RO/DI water. I have a 45 gallon container that I use all 45 gallon per week on my tanks. If saved for to long I would dump it and start a new batch.

Like I said before this argument could go for ever and ever. If any of you would like to be a test subject let me know so we can document it.  [smiley=beer2.gif]
Believe as you wish but do you really want to chance it?

Flip flop and there is no data supporting that statement that it is OK for you.

Drinking RO is ok but IMO DI is not.
Sparkletts bottled water is RO water (I tested with my TDS and it reads 5ppm) and most other bottled water are only filtered with charcoal.

But NO where do you find "ANY" bottle water companies that filter there water with a DI FILTER..... makes you wonder RIGHT? If not it should.

All things being equal, a perfectly balanced salt will produce perfectly balanced salt water with RO/DI water reading 0.

That is a damn good reading for tap water. Please test every other day and lets see if it fluctuates some.
My tap water is at 180 to 250 ppm.
Hey when did you get a TDS meter fella?
    What is FWIW?
