Yes, you can put it anywhere. I mounted mine in the bathroom so I don't have to go up and down the stairs (used to be in basement). I put my 7 gal. containers in the shower so if it overflows, no mess.

That's actually a very good idea, don't know why I didn't think of it. I have mine in a laundry room utility sink and have just filled the buckets while they were in the cabinet under the sink, so that they were out of the way. I have had them overflow several times because I forgot to turn the water off and the water leaked into my basement. I should just put the bucket in the sink. I'm dumb.

Howdy Carpenter. I have the Typhoon 5 Stage from airwaterice.com and I love it. It's more than a year old now and it's been maintenance free so far.

All instructions regarding flushing, changing filters, etc. are included, and Don from the company is helpful via email if you need him. If you get one, you'll have everything you need to know from the accompanying paperwork, you'll have a solid product, and you'll have good support.

I think they are pretty much all the same units, I have no plumbing experience and am a bit crap at diy. I fitted an RO MAN unit under the kitchen sink, it took me about 1 hour. I would honestly say it's one of the best things i have done. Just remeber to fit the DI unit after the RO membrane. My instructions did not make this clear?
