    Hi

I brought a RO-MAN Filter of ebay not so long ago and I have only just piped it up.

The water feed is fine, and the waste water is fine... but I am getting no good water. I ran it for 3-4 hours straight and got no good water! so I turned it off.

I also havent changed the filters yet as I wanna make sure it works before I spend more on it.

    Anyway here are some pictures.

Any help would be great!!

From the photos it appears you bought the unit used, I see a bit of rust around the screws, bracket and such.
The first thing I see is you have the membrane flush valve in the open position, its the valve on top on the green lines and it should be closed for normal use, in fact I would throw it away or use the tees and ball valve for better purposes myself. They have no proven value for flushing.

With the valve closed you should see flow from the treated line. You should be getting approximately 4:1 waste or 4 cups of waste for every 1 cup of good treated water.

If it is used, you may need new filters as you say. Old prefilters and carbons could cause a pressure drop too.

Yeah it is second hand, when I brought it I was under the impression it was unused... but anyway its fine.

You were right! Flush Valve was open lol. I didnt know it had to shiut as it came with no instructions, and the instructions on the unit itself are worn away.
Anyway thanks for your help! it works a treat :) now to find some new filters the right size! lol

    Thanks!

By the pictures I have can you see if there is anything wrong with it? Would the water I get from it be good enough for a reef tank? And thanks for the link :)

It would appear they dont deliver to England :/

What you have is RO only so eventually adding a DI filter to the end would be a good idea. You will need a TDS meter to determine how well it is working, a good quality new membrane in like new condition will reduce the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in the incoming tap water by 96-98%. You will need the TDS meter to measure the TDS of both the tap water and treated RO water to determine how well it is functioning. With the additional DI filter you further reduce that treated TDS to 0 for the best reef quality water.

Sorry, can't help you on vendors overseas but I am sure you have many choices like we do. I would try to find a local reef club or society and get to know some of the members and where they shop, it helped me in the past.
