Just TDS'd my Tap, RO, And RO/DI

    Tap- 134, RO- 0, RO/DI- 0

I do have the set up that can get some creep from the RO tank side a little.

my $100 dollar Ebay special is still working well, after about a year!

And I agree that AzRat really knows what he's talking about, as do others- not dissing here at all, no sarcasm.

If you are using the pressure tank to store RO only water then take it from there to make DI it will shorten the life of the DI resin since the pressure tank TDS will rise with time. One way to help this situation is to make sure and completely drain the pressure tank every week or two so it can fill completely with fresh RO water in one long cycle.

If you are storing RO/DI in the pressure tank you will eventually have problems as the agressive DI will start to degrade the rubber bladder and the metal in the tank as it is not titanium which is about the only safe metal around agressive DI or ultrapure water.

If you are using a float switch to control the on and off of the RO/DI system the TDS will rise and DI life will be shortened due to multiple short filter runs. One way to help this situation is to shut the RO/DI off for a day or two at a time so the level in the display or sump return section drop and inch or two vs maybe a tenth of an inch and you get a nice long fill so the membrane has a chance to cleanse itself. Another option which I use myself is to fill a remote larger volume ATO container with the RO/DI water so it runs maybe once a week but for a few hours, then pull from that reservoir with the ATO system. I use a 23 gallon Rubbermaid can and float switches set 12" apart so the level drops 11 gallons before the RO/DI cycles again. Form there my UPLC top off system pulls from the ATO reservoir with its peristaltic pump any time the sump return level drops about 1.5", the UPLC is adjustable from 1/10" to 4" at the tocuh of a button.

    Noted.

My system gets gallons at a time drained, with drinking, soups, coffee, Hot tea, crock pots, etc., thru the RO tap.

Ever since you had suggested it, I have my DI resin gong vertical, flow bottom to top. As of now about 2/3 of the resin in brownish, the other is blackish- it's in a clear cannister, and the it's a sharp contrast in colors.

I'm checking the outputs, and will get advice about filters to fit my system when it's time.

    Thanks
